Notably, it will not have a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue atop the structure, marking a distinctive choice in its design.
The history of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple began on April 4, 2021, when Prophet Russell M. Nelson announced its construction during the 191st Annual General Conference. This announcement sparked excitement and anticipation across Brazil, particularly in Minas Gerais, as it marks the first Temple in that state. The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Juan A. Uceda, with an attendance of approximately 500 guests. During this significant event, Elder Uceda expressed a heartfelt prayer for the people of the region, asking for divine protection and the uninterrupted progression of the Temple’s construction.
As the opening date approaches, the spiritual significance of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple becomes increasingly evident.
