Santiago Philippines Temple: A New Chapter for Isabela

The announcement of the Santiago Philippines Temple on October 2, 2022, during the October General Conference by President Russell M. Nelson marked a significant milestone for the region. This new addition will be the tenth Temple in the Philippines, furthering the accessibility of spiritual resources in the country.

Project Details

The Santiago Philippines Temple will be constructed on a spacious 14.47-acre site located east of Camella Isabella Main Road in Barangay Malvar, Santiago City, Isabela. This will be complemented by a new meetinghouse that will share a parking lot with the Temple.

Design Features

The Temple will cover an impressive 18,850 square feet and will feature a single attached central spire, though it will not include a gold-leafed Angel Moroni. The exterior will be adorned with elegant beige granite, offering a modern and inviting aesthetic. The Temple will be situated at an elevation of 260 feet, contributing to its prominence in the surrounding area.

Context and Importance

Prior to the announcement of the Santiago Philippines Temple, nine other Temples had already been dedicated, under construction, or announced across the Philippines. These include the Alabang, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City, Davao, Manila, Naga, Tacloban City, and Urdaneta Temples. The Santiago Philippines Temple will further enrich the tapestry of spiritual resources available to individuals and families in the region.

What’s Next?

Currently, the Santiago Philippines Temple is still in the planning stages, and an official construction date has not been announced. However, a rendering was released to the public on February 23, 2026, providing a glimpse of what to expect.

Reflecting on the importance of this initiative, President Nelson remarked on the accelerated pace at which Temples are being built, emphasizing how this effort will enhance the capacity to gather Israel. “Let us never lose sight of what the Lord is doing for us now. He is making His temples more accessible,” he stated.

The Santiago Philippines Temple represents a promising future for the Isabela province. It not only signifies the ongoing commitment to provide spiritual resources for individuals and families but also serves as a testament to the growth and dedication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines. As plans continue to unfold, anticipation builds for this transformative addition to the region.
