Get ready to experience the magic of the holiday season at Temple Square! The annual tradition of dazzling lights returns to the global headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, transforming the area into a winter wonderland. Here, you’ll find Christ centered displays and a range of free activities that radiate the spirit of the holidays.

This year, even more areas of Temple Square are open for visitors, while the Salt Lake Temple undergoes exciting renovations, set to culminate in a grand reopening celebration in April 2027. While the scaffold covered temple might be temporarily off limits, the lights shine brightly nightly from 68 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., illuminating the season and offering a beautiful backdrop for holiday memories until January 1st.

As you stroll through Temple Square, take in the festive atmosphere created by the latest light displays and enjoy the excitement that fills downtown Salt Lake City. Nearby, don’t miss the magnificent Christmas tree at City Creek Center, the charming candy windows at Macy’s, and the engaging The Turning Season installation at the Eccles Theater. Plus, glide under the stars at the Gallivan Center’s ice rink, where the “Glow installation adds an extra touch of wonder.
