Excitement is building in Provo, Utah, as the highly anticipated Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple begins its journey toward completion! Announced by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson on October 3, 2021, this new sacred space is set to be a stunning addition to the Utah landscape and the sixth temple in the Beehive State.
A Grand Vision Unveiled
Scheduled for completion in late 2027, the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple will occupy a spacious 17-acre site at 2200 Temple Hill Dr, Provo, UT 84604. This is an upgrade from the previous location, which spanned only 15 acres, thanks to the strategic removal of the road at the old temple’s front. With a striking granite exterior, the temple will boast a massive 163,000 square feet of sacred space, standing tall at 81 meters (265 feet 6 inches).
A New Look and Feel
One of the most notable changes is the design choice to forgo the iconic gold-leafed Angel Moroni, which is currently in storage. Instead, the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple will feature a single attached central spire that will surely catch the eye of all who pass by.
