Arizona Temple Garden Christmas light display is open to the public

Nestled in the heart of Mesa, Arizona, the Mesa Arizona Temple stands as a beacon of faith and architectural beauty. As the 7th dedicated temple of its kind, this stunning structure is a significant landmark, located at 101 S. LeSueur, Mesa, Arizona 85204.

The journey of the Mesa Arizona Temple began on October 9, 1919, when it was first announced, making it the very first temple built in Arizona. After years of anticipation, the community had the chance to explore its spiritual grandeur during a public open house from October 16 through November 20, 2021, led by Prophet Dallin H. Oaks.

Spanning an impressive 75,000 square feet and built on a generous 20-acre site, the temple showcases a striking exterior of glazed eggshell and is fortified with 130 tons of steel. Its architectural design features a flat roof adorned with sculpted friezes, each element thoughtfully designed to reflect Isaiah’s promise for the last days.

Inside, the temple offers a serene and sacred space, featuring four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and one baptistry—each space crafted to facilitate deep spiritual experiences. Rising to a height of 53 feet and perched at an elevation of 1,240 feet, the Mesa Arizona Temple not only serves as a spiritual haven but also as a stunning visual landmark that draws visitors and worshippers alike.

Originally known as the Arizona Temple, it has evolved over the years. Where once live acting was a feature of its ceremonies, modern displays now offer a fresh and engaging experience for those who enter. The friezes that grace the corners of the temple serve as a beautiful reminder of hope and faith, inviting all to reflect on the promises of the future.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the Mesa Arizona Temple is a must-visit destination, inviting all to pause, reflect, and explore the beauty of faith in a stunning setting.
