On October 5, 2019, during the 189th Semiannual General Conference, the Prophet Russell M. Nelson announced the construction of the Bacolod Philippines Temple. This momentous occasion marked the beginning of a deeply anticipated phase for many in the region.
Groundbreaking and Dedicatory Events
The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on December 11, 2021, with Elder Taniela B. Wakolo leading the ceremony. Since then, progress has been swift, and heightened enthusiasm surrounds the upcoming public open house, taking place from April 16th to May 2nd, 2026.
Architectural Features
The Bacolod Philippines Temple features a stunning exterior, characterized by a cream-colored facade, complemented by a bronze-domed cupola that adds to its elegance. The design includes a single attached central tower, which stands proudly at an elevation of 93 feet.
Inside, the temple is equipped with two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry, designed to facilitate various sacred services. Additionally, there will be a separate building for patron housing and a distribution center, both of which will enhance the overall experience for those who come to this sacred site.
