The Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple was officially announced on October 3, 1992. The groundbreaking took place on October 9, 1993, with the site dedication led by the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. Following this, the public open house extended from August 6, 1996, to September 21, 1996, attracting over 679,217 individuals who had the opportunity to tour the Temple.
The dedication of this Temple took place from October 13 to October 19 in 1996, under the guidance of Gordon B. Hinckley. It occupies a prominent 16.7 acres of land, originally designated as church welfare land.
Architectural Features
The exterior of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple is clad in sierra white granite, adorned with art glass windows and distinguished bronze doors. Notable architectural elements include a single attached end spire crowned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue.
Temple Layout
Inside, the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple spans 107,240 square feet and stands at a height of 190 feet. Perched at an elevation of 4,764 feet, this Temple features an adaptive floor plan quite similar to the Bountiful Utah Temple. The facility includes four instruction rooms, eight sealing rooms, and one baptistry.
Angel Moroni Installation
On July 17, 1995, the installation of a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue drew an audience of about 20,000 people, marking a significant moment in the Temple’s history.

The inscription “Holiness to the Lord” is prominently displayed on the building, appearing twice—once on the exterior above the east windows and again etched into the glass near the west entrance.
