Discovering the Brigham City Utah Temple

Nestled at 250 S Main St, Brigham City, Utah, the Brigham City Utah Temple stands as the 139th dedicated Temple currently in operation. This remarkable site has a rich history and serves as a destination for many.

A Historic Announcement

The journey of the Brigham City Utah Temple began on October 3, 2009, when it was announced by Prophet Thomas S. Monson during the 179th Semiannual General Conference. This revelation marked the beginning of a significant endeavor for the area and its inhabitants.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

On July 31, 2010, the excitement surrounding this new construction heightened during the groundbreaking and site dedication led by Apostle Boyd K. Packer. This moment set the stage for what would become a beloved addition to the area.

Open House and Dedication

After years of anticipation, the public open house ran from August 15th through September 15th, 2012, allowing many to view the intricately designed interiors and beautiful exterior. Finally, on September 23, 2012, Apostle Boyd K. Packer dedicated the Temple, solidifying its importance within the fabric of Brigham City.

A Unique Design

Occupying 3.14 acres, the Brigham City Utah Temple features a stunning exterior, finished with precast concrete limestone. Its two attached end spires prominently display a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which was installed in an impressive 50 minutes, witnessed by around 5,000 people.

The building spans 36,000 square feet and reaches a height of 165 feet, a beautiful sight against the backdrop of the surrounding landscape. Situated at an elevation of 4,454 feet, it commands a presence that parallels the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Facilities Inside

Inside, the Temple hosts two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and one baptistry, designed to accommodate various sacred practices.

Parking and Accessibility

Ample parking is available, featuring 123 surface stalls, 29 street stalls, and 130 underground stalls, accessed by driving on the west side of the property. Notably, the site does not include a meetinghouse in the same parking area, making it an exclusive location.

Location Significance

The Temple is strategically located right across from the Box Elder Tabernacle, further enhancing the spiritual landscape of the area. The grounds where it stands hold historical significance as well—an old school once occupied the site before its demolition.

In essence, the Brigham City Utah Temple is not just a physical space; it embodies the spirit of the community and the dedication of many who contributed to its establishment. Its architectural beauty and vital role in the lives of those in the area make it a noteworthy focus for all who encounter it.
