Discovering the Brigham City Utah Temple

Located at 250 S Main St, Brigham City, Utah, the Brigham City Utah Temple stands as the 139th dedicated Temple in operation. This impressive site covers 3.14 acres and features stunning architectural details that draw admiration from all who see it.

A Historic Announcement

The journey to the Brigham City Utah Temple began on October 3, 2009, when Prophet Thomas S. Monson announced its construction during the 179th Semiannual General Conference. This marked an exciting moment for the local area and many who hold the Temple close to their hearts.

Groundbreaking and Dedication

On July 31, 2010, the site saw its groundbreaking and dedication led by Apostle Boyd K. Packer. This pivotal event marked the beginning of what would become a cherished location in the community.

Open House Experience

After years of anticipation, the public open house took place from August 15 through September 15, 2012. This period allowed the community to explore the Temple’s beautiful design and thoughtful features before its dedication.

On September 23, 2012, the Brigham City Utah Temple was officially dedicated, once again by Apostle Boyd K. Packer. This event solidified its place as a significant location in Brigham City.

Architectural Details

The Temple spans 36,000 square feet and rises to a height of 165 feet, positioned at an elevation of 4,454 feet. Its exterior is strikingly finished with precast concrete limestone, offering a blend of elegance and durability.

One of the standout features includes two attached end spires adorned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue. During its installation at 2:30 PM, an incredible 5,000 people observed the process, which took only 50 minutes!

Inside, the Temple hosts two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and one baptistry, providing spaces designed for various sacred practices.

Convenient Amenities

For those planning to visit, ample parking is available with 123 surface stalls and 29 street stalls, along with 130 underground stalls accessible from the west side of the Temple. Importantly, there is no meetinghouse located in the same parking lot, ensuring a distinct atmosphere.

The Temple now occupies the grounds where an old school once stood, having been demolished in the years prior. Situated right across the street from the Box Elder Tabernacle, it enhances the spiritual and cultural landscape of the area.

A Unique Place in Utah

As the fourteenth Temple built in Utah and the first in Box Elder County, the Brigham City Utah Temple holds a unique distinction. Its presence enriches the local area, providing a serene location for personal reflection and connection.

Whether you’re a resident of Brigham City or just passing through, the Brigham City Utah Temple is an exquisite addition to this vibrant town, worthy of exploration and appreciation.
