This journey began on April 4, 2021, during the 191st General Conference, when Prophet Russell M. Nelson announced the establishment of the Burley Idaho Temple. At that time, Idaho had over 460,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, belonging to around 1,200 congregations. The region’s rich history dates back to 1855, when early pioneers settled in Idaho, establishing a strong foundation for future generations.
Groundbreaking and Dedication
The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on June 4, 2022, with Brent H. Nielsen presiding over the event. Spanning 10.12 acres, the Burley Idaho Temple features a unique exterior finish of Bianco Sarda granite. Its impressive height reaches 172 feet, situated at an elevation of 4,188 feet. A single attached end spire crowns the Temple, distinguishing it with elegance and grace.
Interior Design
