Christmas Adventure at Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple – Putting Jesus in his manger and Christmas lgihts

The Mesa Arizona Temple stands as a remarkable beacon of faith and community, proudly recognized as the 7th dedicated temple currently in operation. Nestled on a sprawling 20-acre site at 101 S. LeSueur, Mesa, Arizona 85204, this beautiful temple has an inspiring history.

Announced on October 9, 1919, the Mesa Arizona Temple holds the distinction of being the first temple built in Arizona. It has undergone an impressive transformation over the years and was open to the public for a special event from October 16 to November 20, 2021, led by Prophet Dallin H. Oaks. This was a wonderful opportunity for visitors to explore the temple’s beauty and significance.

With a stunning exterior finished in glazed egg shell concrete reinforced with 130 tons of steel, the temple rises majestically to a height of 53 feet. The architectural design features a flat roof adorned with sculpted friezes that add elegance and detail to its structure. Notably, these friezes symbolize the promise of Isaiah in the last days, showcasing the temple’s deeper spiritual meaning.

Inside, the temple offers four instructive rooms, six sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all housed within an expansive 75,000 square feet. Originally named the Arizona Temple, this sacred space has shifted from live acting presentations to more modern displays, reflecting its evolution in serving the community’s spiritual needs.

The Mesa Arizona Temple’s location sits at an elevation of 1,240 feet, providing a stunning view that complements its inspiring presence. Whether you’re a long-time member of the community or a curious visitor, the Mesa Arizona Temple is truly a place of beauty, reflection, and divine promise.
