Situated on a generous 12.5-acre site at 5997 Brecksville Road in Independence, Ohio, this Cleveland Temple will not only serve as a place of Temple work but also share its parking facilities with a meetinghouse. This vital connection demonstrates the church’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for its ever-growing congregations in Ohio.
A Monumental Design
Spanning an impressive 9,900 square feet, the Cleveland Ohio Temple’s innovative design will feature exquisite granite exteriors, standing proudly at an elevation of 733 feet. Unlike most Temples, this remarkable structure will boast a single attached central spire, devoid of the iconic gold-leafed Angel Moroni, embodying a modern approach while still holding sacred significance.
The vision for this Cleveland LDS Temple was unveiled to the public on July 25, 2023, sparking enthusiasm and curiosity within the community. It’s heartening to witness how quickly plans transformed from an announcement made during the April 3, 2022, General Conference—where it was officially unveiled as the second temple in Ohio—into a tangible reality!
Meeting the Needs of a Thriving Community
The Cleveland Ohio Temple will accommodate the spiritual needs of the local congregations with one instruction room, a sealing room, and a single baptistry. At the time of this momentous announcement, more than 63,000 members were recorded across 125 congregations throughout the state.
