The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 1, 2024, led by Elder Vaiangina Sikahema, marking the official commencement of this monumental project. The Cleveland Temple will be built on a sprawling 12.5 acres site at 5997 Brecksville Road, Independence, Ohio 44131. This significant location was unveiled alongside the announcement, solidifying its place as a spiritual beacon for the community.
Architectural Wonders
The Cleveland Ohio Temple is designed to impress. With its expansive 9,900 square feet of sacred space, this Temple will feature a single attached central spire, enhancing its profile against the skyline of Independence. It will be adorned with a stunning granite exterior, showcasing both durability and beauty. Interestingly, the Temple will not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni, a change from many other temples, illustrating a unique architectural vision.

Amenities for a Growing Community
The Cleveland Ohio Temple will house one instruction room, one sealing room, and a baptistry, allowing members to partake in essential ordinances within their own community.

At the time of the announcement, there were more than 63,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across Ohio, with 125 congregations vibrant and actively engaged.
