Celebrating the Cody Wyoming Temple
The Cody Wyoming Temple, located at 1719 Wyoming Avenue, Cody, WY 82414, is a site that has excited many since its announcement on October 3, 2021, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. The anticipation surrounding this addition has permeated through the area, highlighting a significant moment for many in the region.
On September 27, 2024, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place, conducted by Elder Steven R. Bangerter. In his remarks, Elder Bangerter emphasized the optimistic outlook for the area, saying, “We ask that they may feel a spirit of peace wash over them, granting them comfort and assurance that the presence of this temple will bring added joy, prosperity, beauty and unity to their lives and their community.”
Covering 4.69 acres, the Cody Wyoming Temple is thoughtfully designed with an exterior that features a single attached central tower, showcasing elegance without the addition of a gold-leafed angel Moroni statue. The building itself encompasses an impressive 8,050 square feet and reaches a height of 101 feet, all while sitting at an elevation of 5,134 feet.
Internally, the Temple includes valuable spaces that support different functions, featuring one instruction room, one sealing room, and a baptistry. The detailed rendering released to the public on March 27, 2023, reveals a striking multi-steeple design capped with a pyramidal spire, offering a glimpse into the architectural beauty that this space aims to embody.
Upon completion, the Cody Wyoming Temple will mark the third of its kind in Wyoming, further enriching the landscape and the lives of those who hold its values dear. The Cody Wyoming Temple stands as a significant endeavor, promising to bring added joy and unity to all who encounter its presence.
