Discovering the Cody Wyoming Temple

The Cody Wyoming Temple, located at 1719 Wyoming Avenue, Cody, WY 82414, marks a significant addition to the area. Announced on October 3, 2021, by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson, this new addition exemplifies the growth and expansion of religious devotion in Wyoming.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

On September 27, 2024, Elder Steven R. Bangerter officiated the groundbreaking and site dedication. His uplifting words highlighted the anticipated impact of the Temple: “We ask that they may feel a spirit of peace wash over them, granting them comfort and assurance that the presence of this Temple will bring added joy, prosperity, beauty and unity to their lives and their community.”

What to Expect

The Cody Wyoming Temple encompasses 4.69 acres and features a unique exterior design, incorporating a single attached central tower. Interestingly, this Temple will not include a gold-leafed angel Moroni statue.

Features of the Temple

  • Size: The building has a total area of 8,050 square feet.
  • Height: It will rise to 101 feet, providing a striking presence in the Cody skyline.
  • Facilities: Inside, the Temple includes one instruction room, one sealing room, and a baptistry.

Architectural Design

On March 27, 2023, a rendering of the Cody Wyoming Temple was released. This design showcases a multi-steeple topped with a pyramidal spire, reflecting a blend of traditional aesthetics and modern elements.

Future Timeline

Once completed, the Cody Wyoming Temple will be the third Temple constructed in Wyoming. It is slated for an Open House from August 27, 2026, through September 12, 2026, although it will be closed on Sundays.
