The Future of the Vienna Austria Temple
Excitement is building in Austria as plans for the Vienna Austria Temple come to life. On March 23, 2026, an exterior rendering was released, offering a glimpse into this multistory endeavor, which will span an impressive 15,300 square feet and sit on a .80-acre site.
The announcement was first made by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on April 4, 2021, who emphasized the importance of keeping one’s covenants close at heart: “Keep your temple covenants and blessings foremost in your minds and hearts. Stay true to the covenants you have made.” This profound message resonates deeply within the Church, encouraging reflection and commitment among its members.
Located at an elevation of 616 feet, the Vienna Austria Temple will serve as a new spiritual center for nearly 4,700 Church members residing in the country. Currently, these individuals gather in 17 congregations, and the addition of this Temple marks a significant milestone in the religious landscape of Austria, as it will be the first house of the Lord in the nation.
As plans progress, anticipation continues to build around the impact this space will have on the local Church members and the broader community. The Vienna Austria Temple represents a new chapter for many who hold their faith and covenants dearly. Stay tuned as we follow the developments of this inspiring project that aims to enrich the spiritual lives of countless individuals in Austria and beyond.
