The Twin Falls Idaho Temple stands as the 128th dedicated Temple in operation, reaching towards the heavens with its impressive spire, which is the highest point in the region. Located at 1405 Eastland Dr N, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301, it offers a serene panorama south of the Snake River Canyon.

Architectural Highlights

Inspired by the nearby Shoshone Falls, the design of the Twin Falls Idaho Temple features a captivating waterfall theme. This theme is intricately woven into the walls, stained-glass windows, and beautiful landscaping, which includes two waterfall features at the entrance. The exterior is crafted from 282 precast concrete panels complemented by a quartz rock finish, sourced from Washington State. Atop the single spire, a striking 13½-foot gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni sits proudly.

Interior Design

Inside the Twin Falls Idaho Temple, the interior is adorned with exceptional craftsmanship. The main materials include imported African wood and brass for the doors, with light fixtures made of bronze, crystal, and glass. In particular, the elegantly designed fixtures illuminate the celestial and ordinance rooms while harmonizing with the regional aesthetics of the Magic Valley. Furthermore, the art glass features a Syringa flower motif, Idaho’s state flower, seen in most of the 200 windowpanes that comprise a total of 12,000 pieces of glass.

Murals and Artwork

The Temple showcases stunning murals by Idaho artist Leon Parson, depicting local landscapes, including the magnificent Shoshone Falls. Paintings from the Covenant Path Series and At Dusk provide additional artistic charm, while aerial prints of Pastel Sunrise enhance the visual experience.

History and Milestones

The Twin Falls Idaho Temple was announced on October 2, 2004, during a General Conference, generating excitement within the community. The groundbreaking and site dedication on April 15, 2005, were conducted by Apostle Neil L. Anderson. Following years of construction, a public open house occurred from July 11, 2008, to August 16, 2008, welcoming 159,863 attendees.

Dedication and Dimensions

Dedicated by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson, the Temple encompasses 31,245 square feet and is situated at an elevation of 3,676 feet. Standing at a height of 152 feet and 10 inches, this single-story Temple is designed with two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry.

Significance in Idaho

The Twin Falls Idaho Temple is historically significant as the first Temple built in the city of Twin Falls and the first in Twin Falls County. It is the fourth Temple built in Idaho, following the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple (1945), Boise Idaho Temple (1984), and Rexburg Idaho Temple (2008).

With its majestic design and rich history, the Twin Falls Idaho Temple remains a point of pride for residents and a stunning example of architectural excellence in the region.
