The Twin Falls Idaho Temple stands as the 128th dedicated Temple in operation, situated at 1405 Eastland Dr N, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301. This impressive building is located just south of the Snake River Canyon and reaches a height of 152 feet and 10 inches, making it the highest point in the area.

A Vision Realized

The journey to establish the Twin Falls Idaho Temple began with its announcement on October 2, 2004, by the Prophet during a General Conference. Groundbreaking took place on April 15, 2005, led by Apostle Neil L. Anderson. Following its construction, a public open house was held from July 11, 2008, to August 16, 2008, with a remarkable total of 159,863 attendees exploring its sacred spaces.

Architectural Inspiration

The design of the Temple is heavily inspired by the breathtaking Shoshone Falls, located just five miles away. Its exterior features precast concrete panels with a quartz rock finish enriched with a waterfall theme, evident in its stunning stained-glass windows and landscaped entrance, which includes enchanting waterfall features. The exterior art glass consists of a Syringa Motif and embodies a waterfall theme, incorporating a total of 12,000 pieces of glass across 200 window panes.

Interior Design Highlights

The interior of the Twin Falls Idaho Temple showcases elegant light fixtures that blend traditional elegance with regional aesthetics. These custom-designed fixtures are primarily made from bronze, crystal, and glass, enhancing the beauty of the celestial, sealing, and ordinance rooms. Noteworthy artistic elements include murals by Idaho artist Leon Parson, which depict local landscapes such as Shoshone Falls. Additionally, the interior doors are crafted from African wood and adorned with antiqued brass hardware.

Notable Features

  • Two instruction rooms and three sealing rooms make up the layout of the Temple.
  • The baptismal font railings are crafted from bronze, emphasizing the fine craftsmanship throughout.
  • The Temple is built on 9.1 acres, offering spacious grounds that enhance its presence.

Unique Artistic Elements

The artwork within the Twin Falls Idaho Temple includes the Covenant Path Series and “At Dusk,” along with pastel sunrise aerial prints. These pieces contribute to the serene atmosphere that is characteristic of this divine place. The Syringa flower, the state flower of Idaho, appears in various locations throughout the Temple, including most of the art-glass windowpanes.

A Testament to Quality Craftsmanship

The materials chosen for this unique creation reflect excellence—from granite sourced from India to stone materials from Montana. The exterior consists of 282 precast concrete panels, each with a quartz rock finish mined in Washington state. On May 30, 2007, a striking 13½-foot gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni was placed atop the single spire, further adding to its majestic skyline.

The Twin Falls Idaho Temple is the fourth Temple built in Idaho, following the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple in 1945, the Boise Idaho Temple in 1984, and the Rexburg Idaho Temple in 2008. Its architectural beauty and serene presence are a point of pride for the surrounding area and all who admire its craftsmanship.
