El Paso Texas Temple. On October 6, 2024, the Prophet Russell M. Nelson made a significant announcement regarding the construction of the El Paso Texas Temple during the 194th Semiannual General Conference. El Paso, located in the far western region of Texas, not only serves as the administrative seat of El Paso County but is also recognized as the sixth-largest city in the state. This new temple will be the tenth to be established in Texas, reflecting the growing presence of the faith in the region.
In addition to the El Paso Texas Temple, other temples either announced, under construction, or in operation include the Austin Texas Temple, Dallas Texas Temple, Fort Worth Texas Temple, Houston Texas Temple, Houston Texas South Temple, Lubbock Texas Temple, McAllen Texas Temple, McKinney Texas Temple, and San Antonio Texas Temple. Texas boasts a vibrant community of more than 385,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, organized into over 750 congregations.
