The Ephraim Utah Temple has officially opened its doors, completing a journey that began with an announcement on May 1, 2021. Situated at 400 East 200 North in Ephraim, Utah, this remarkable addition to the landscape occupies an expansive 9.16 acres.
Construction culminated with a groundbreaking ceremony on August 27, 2022, led by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. During this significant event, he shared heartfelt connections to the area, stating, “My dear mother was born in Ephraim, not far from this very temple site,” emphasizing the deep roots he has in the region. His dedication prayer acknowledged the importance of ancestors, expressing gratitude for their foundational role in nurturing faith.
The Ephraim Utah Temple showcases striking architectural elements, including two majestic end towers while notably forgoing the traditional gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. With its impressive 39,000 square feet, this space is designed thoughtfully with four instructional rooms, three sealing rooms, and a single baptistry. Each endowment room can accommodate 30 individuals, providing ample seating for meaningful experiences.
