A Journey From Vision to Reality
The announcement of the Ephraim Utah Temple came on May 1, 2021, when President Russell M. Nelson shared the news in a prerecorded message played at a news conference inside the Manti Tabernacle. In that historic moment, President Nelson proclaimed: “I express my love for you and my testimony that we are engaged in the work of Almighty God. Jesus is the Christ. This is His Church. We are His servants.”
The groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony took place on August 27, 2022, with President Nelson himself leading the sacred dedicatory prayer. This momentous occasion set the stage for construction to begin on what would become a beautiful addition to Utah’s Temple landscape.
Impressive Architectural Features
When the architectural rendering was released to the public on March 4, 2022, members got their first glimpse of the Temple’s elegant design. The completed Temple encompasses 39,000 square feet of carefully planned religious space, situated at an elevation of 5,567 feet in the scenic Sanpete Valley.
The interior of the Ephraim Utah Temple is designed for efficiency and spiritual purpose. The Temple features:
- Four instruction rooms with the capacity to seat 30 people each
- Three sealing rooms for eternal covenant-making ceremonies
- One baptistry for baptismal ordinances

The Dedication Schedule
The much-anticipated dedication is drawing near with several important dates to mark on your calendar.
A media day will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, followed by private tours for invited guests on Tuesday, September 1.
The public open house begins on Wednesday, September 2, and continues through Saturday, September 19 (Sundays excluded). This two-and-a-half-week window will allow interested individuals from throughout the region to tour the Temple’s beautiful interior located at 400 East 200 North, Ephraim, Utah 84627, and learn about its purpose.
The formal dedication will take place on Sunday, October 11, at 10 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2 p.m. Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside over the dedicatory session, which will be broadcast to all units within the Ephraim Utah Temple district.
