Exciting news is unfolding in North Texas as the Fairview Texas Temple takes shape! Nestled on a picturesque 8.16-acre site, this upcoming temple will be a stunning architectural gem, featuring a striking single central spire that will rise 120 feet into the sky. Inside, the temple will offer two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, accommodating worshippers in its spacious 30,742 square feet of sacred space.
The Fairview Texas Temple will set at an elevation of 656 feet along Stacy Road, just east of the existing meetinghouse at 651 East Stacy Road, Fairview is perfectly situated within the charming Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Although we’re still eagerly awaiting the groundbreaking, we were thrilled to receive the first official exterior rendering on February 26, 2024, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come!
The journey to this exciting project began back in October 2022 when President Russell M. Nelson announced plans for a new temple in Prosper during the General Conference. But, in a delightful twist, the location was shifted to Fairview—a friendly town that is home to a vibrant community of over 370,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spread across 737 congregations.
This new Fairview Texas Temple will hold a special place as the eighth temple in Texas, joining the ranks of seven other beautiful temples across the state. Interestingly, the project has gone through quite an evolution, starting as a temple in Prosper, then being renamed the McKinney Texas Temple, and finally settling on the Fairview Texas Temple. The history of missionary work in Texas dates back to 1843, and this temple will undoubtedly enhance the spirit and community of the area.
Stay tuned as we watch this remarkable project develop, bringing hope and inspiration to countless lives in the Lone Star State!
