LDS Temple News is pleased to present a noteworthy milestone with the forthcoming Farmington, New Mexico, Temple, which will serve as the second of its kind in the state for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This significant project was announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April 2021 and reached an important stage with a groundbreaking ceremony conducted by Elder Anthony D. Perkins on April 30, 2022. The new temple will be situated on a picturesque 6.62-acre site at the intersection of College Boulevard and Windsor Drive. This thoughtfully designed single-story sanctuary will span approximately 25,000 square feet, featuring a community meetinghouse as part of its layout. The design pays tribute to local heritage, harmoniously blending American influences with native flora to appreciate the vibrant culture of the surrounding community.
