LDS Temple News is excited to highlight an important milestone with the upcoming Farmington, New Mexico, Temple, the second of its kind in the state for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April 2021, this project has progressed significantly, with a successful groundbreaking ceremony led by Elder Anthony D. Perkins on April 30, 2022. This new temple will be strategically located on a beautiful 6.62-acre site at the intersection of College Boulevard and Windsor Drive. Encompassing around 25,000 square feet, this inspiring single-story sanctuary will also include a community meetinghouse, providing a welcoming space for gatherings. The temple’s design thoughtfully incorporates local heritage, effectively blending American influences with native flora to resonate with the vibrant culture of the surrounding community. As we look forward to the completion of this temple, we are committed to fostering connections and enriching the lives of those in Farmington and beyond.
