Discovering the Fort Collins Colorado Temple

Nestled in the scenic landscapes of Fort Collins, Colorado, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple stands as the 153rd Operating Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located at 2180 Majestic Dr, this beautiful edifice invites admiration with its serene setting and striking architecture.

The journey to this remarkable location began on August 24, 2013, when Ronald A. Rasband officiated the groundbreaking and site dedication. The anticipation surrounding the construction was palpable, especially leading up to the public open house, which took place from August 19 to September 10, 2016. During this time, an impressive total of 105,000 individuals had the opportunity to explore its spaces and learn about its purpose.

On October 16, 2016, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple was officially dedicated by Apostle Dieter F. Uchtdorf, marking a significant milestone for the area. The Temple is thoughtfully situated on 15.69 acres of land, with a chapel located just across the residential street.

One of the most striking features of the Fort Collins Colorado Temple is its use of beige concrete panels, which blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings. The Temple boasts a single attached central tower, crowned with a magnificent gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, which was installed on August 26, 2015. This iconic figure serves as a reminder of faith and hope.

Spanning 42,000 square feet and reaching a height of 112 feet, the Temple is not only impressive in size but also in the amenities it offers. With two instructional rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry, it serves a variety of needs for its members.

Perched at an elevation of 4,921 feet, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple is the second Temple to be established in the state of Colorado, following a long-standing tradition of spiritual significance for the area. The announcement of its construction came from Prophet Thomas S. Monson on April 2, 2011, igniting enthusiasm and support among local congregations.

The Fort Collins Colorado Temple stands as a testament to faith, dedication, and the rich cultural heritage of the area. Its architectural beauty and serene location continue to inspire all who encounter this magnificent space.
