A Brief History
The journey to what we see today began with the groundbreaking and site dedication on August 24, 2013, led by Ronald A. Rasband. Following years of diligent work and planning, the doors opened for a public open house from August 19 to September 10, 2016. During this period, an impressive total of 105,000 attendees explored the Temple.
The culmination of this phase was the dedication held on October 16, 2016, officiated by the esteemed Apostle Dieter F. Uchtdorf. The event marked not just a milestone for the Temple but also for the surrounding area.
Architectural Highlights
Spanning 42,000 square feet on 15.69 acres, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple is an architectural marvel. Constructed with beige concrete panels, it features a central tower adorned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which was installed on August 26, 2015. The Temple reaches a height of 112 feet, sitting proudly at an elevation of 4,921 feet.
Inside, the Temple houses two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry, aptly designed to facilitate its sacred functions. A chapel sits conveniently across the residential street, enhancing accessibility for those who wish to participate in the activities held here.
