Exploring the Fort Collins Colorado Temple

Nestled in the picturesque city of Fort Collins, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple stands as the 153rd Operating Temple of its kind. Located at 2180 Majestic Dr, Fort Collins, Colorado, this impressive facility has become a prominent feature of the local landscape.

A Historical Timeline

The journey to the completion of the Fort Collins Colorado Temple began on April 2, 2011, when it was announced by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson. Fast forward to August 24, 2013, when the groundbreaking and site dedication took place, led by Ronald A. Rasband. This marked the beginning of a project that would see the Temple rise over the years.

After years of anticipation, the public open house was held from August 19 to September 10, 2016, attracting a remarkable 105,000 individuals eager to tour the building before its formal dedication.

The grand dedication took place on October 16, 2016, officiated by Apostle Dieter F. Uchtdorf, further solidifying the Temple’s place in the spiritual framework of the region.

Architectural Features

The Fort Collins Colorado Temple encompasses an impressive 42,000 square feet and stands at a height of 112 feet, situated at an elevation of 4,921 feet above sea level. The exterior is constructed from elegant beige concrete panels, giving it a serene and inviting appearance.

One of its standout features is the single attached central tower, which is crowned by a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue that was installed on August 26, 2015. The statue serves as a captivating highlight against the Colorado sky.

Within its walls, the Temple includes two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all designed to facilitate various sacred rites and ceremonies.

A Special Location

Occupying 15.69 acres of land, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple is conveniently located across from a chapel, offering a serene environment for spiritual reflection.
