On October 28, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Fort Worth Texas Temple took place, a significant milestone for the local community and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elder Jose L. Alonso, a General Authority Seventy and First Counselor in the North America Southwest Area Presidency, presided over the event. During the dedicatory prayer, he conveyed deep appreciation, remarking on the hope and purpose found through Jesus Christ’s mission and the comfort of His atonement.

The Fort Worth Texas Temple is set to be a remarkable addition to the region. The official exterior rendering, revealed to the public on October 31, 2022, showcases its charming architectural design, featuring a central spire that enhances its graceful appearance. This temple will encompass approximately 30,000 square feet and will be a single-story structure situated on about 9.37 acres, located just north of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson.

The announcement for the construction of the temple came from President Russell M. Nelson during the October 2021 General Conference, making it the sixth temple in Texas, a state with over 360,000 Latter-day Saints. The Fort Worth Temple is strategically located northwest of Dallas and is set at an elevation of 768 feet, which contributes to its beautiful landscape.

When completed, the Fort Worth Texas Temple will serve as a vital place for worship and community gathering. Comparatively, the nearby Fort Collins Colorado Temple features two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, setting a precedent for the types of facilities that may also be included in Fort Worth.

As the construction progresses, the temple is anticipated to bring spiritual enrichment and a sense of community to the area, enhancing the experience of faith for many who live there.
