In Provo’s heart, where memories dwell,
The old temple stood, with stories to tell.
A “spaceship,” a “cupcake,” in sunlight’s embrace,
A cherished landmark, a sacred space.
Yet time takes its toll, and change starts to breathe,
As the Provo Utah Temple bids farewell,
Now rises anew, the Rock Utah Rock Canyon Temple grace,
With a fresh design, to hold a new tale.
Framing the heavens, with spire held high,
Windows emerging under the blue sky.
Concrete laid gently, sidewalks anew,
As echoes of laughter in memories pursue.
By mid-2027, the work will be done,
An open house awaits, a new journey begun.
Yet some hearts still linger on what was before,
Wistful for moments they can’t help but adore.
Petitions were signed, for the old to remain,
But life’s constant rhythm is change’s refrain.
Though quirky and bright, the past may now fade,
In time, new love for this temple will be made.
For change is not loss; it’s growth in disguise,
And with every sunrise, new hope will arise.
So let us embrace this transformation anew,
For the essence of faith will ever shine through.
