The journey to its completion began with an announcement on April 26, 2008, igniting anticipation among many. The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on November 13, 2010, overseen by Elder Claudio R.M. Costa, marking a significant milestone in its development.

After years of construction, a public open house took place from January 18 through February 15, 2014, attracting an impressive 407,020 attendees who had a chance to explore its stunning features. Occupying 15.38 acres, the Gilbert Arizona Temple boasts a remarkable design. Its exterior is finished with precast concrete panels, creating a clean and modern look. One of its most striking architectural features is the single attached central spire topped with a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which was placed on May 15, 2012. This touch of gold gleams against the Arizona sky, drawing the eye and inspiring many.
