The inception of the Gilbert Arizona Temple began on April 26, 2008, when it was officially announced. The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on November 13, 2010, led by Elder Claudio R.M. Costa, marking the start of a significant construction phase.

Open House and Dedication

An exciting public open house was held from January 18 through February 15, 2014, attracting an impressive 407,020 individuals eager to explore the space before its official dedication. The Temple was finally dedicated on March 2, 2014, by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson, with a beautiful reading by Henry B. Eyring.

Architectural Details

The Gilbert Arizona Temple is set on 15.38 acres, featuring a striking architectural design characterized by precast concrete panels. One of its most eye-catching features is a single attached central spire topped with a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, installed on May 15, 2012. The Temple stretches 85,326 square feet, rising to a height of 195 feet, all while sitting at an elevation of 1,269 feet.
