Exciting Developments at the Heber Valley Utah Temple
The Heber Valley Utah Temple is making significant strides as construction continues to progress. Recently, the construction injunction was lifted, allowing work to move forward efficiently.
As part of the construction process, dewatering equipment is now being set up. This involves the drilling of 20 wells, designed to pump water into large tanks for transport to Lake Creek, conveniently located just south of the site. Notably, this dewatering operation will have no environmental impact on the surrounding area, ensuring the ecosystem remains unaffected.
This magnificent undertaking was first announced on October 3, 2021, during the General Conference. Following this announcement, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, led by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson.
Spanning 18.17 acres, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will feature unique architectural elements, including two attached end towers. Unlike many other Temples, there will be no Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue adorning its top.
Inside, the Temple will include four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, catering to various needs. It will be recognized as a large Temple due to its impressive size of 87,626 square feet, far exceeding the 80,000 square foot threshold.
Rising to a height of 210 feet, this Temple will sit at an elevation of 6,711 feet upon completion. The beautiful Heber Valley, located in Wasatch County—just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City—serves as a picturesque backdrop for this remarkable undertaking.
A rendering of the Heber Valley Utah Temple was shared with the public on September 19, 2022, offering a glimpse of the stunning design that awaits. Once completed, it will stand as the 28th Temple in Utah, contributing to the rich heritage and spiritual landscape of the region.
Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project continues to unfold!
