Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Addition to the Landscape

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is making notable strides in its development. As part of the preparations for this significant undertaking, dewatering activities are now in progress. This involves drilling 20 wells to manage groundwater, allowing the water to be pumped into large tanks and transferred to Lake Creek, located just south of the site. Importantly, the dewatering process is designed to have no environmental impact.

The construction injunction associated with the Heber Valley Utah Temple has recently been lifted, paving the way for further progress. Located at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, this new addition has been anticipated since its announcement on October 3, 2021. Groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, officiated by Prophet Russell M. Nelson, marking a significant moment in this endeavor that was initially revealed during the October 2021 General Conference.

Spanning 18.17 acres, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is set to feature architectural elements that include two attached end towers. Notably, it will not have a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, distinguishing it from other Temples. Inside, the design includes four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, catering to various needs.

As a large Temple, defined as one exceeding 80,000 square feet, the Heber Valley Temple will encompass 87,626 square feet. Rising to a height of 210 feet and positioned at an elevation of 6,711 feet, this Temple will certainly become a prominent feature of the Heber Valley.

Public interest has been sparked with the release of its rendering on September 19, 2022. Set in the picturesque rural mountain valley of Wasatch County, just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City, the Heber Valley Utah Temple promises to stand as a beautiful feature in its landscape.

Once completed, it will become the 28th Temple in Utah, contributing to the rich history and presence of such spiritual sites in the state. As construction continues, the excitement around this effort builds, promising a valuable addition to the area.
