Heber Valley Utah Temple: Exciting Developments in Heber City

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is making significant strides in its construction as dewatering efforts are set in motion. This process involves drilling 20 wells to pump water into large tanks, which will then be transferred to Lake Creek, located just south of the site. Importantly, the dewatering activities are designed to ensure there are no adverse environmental effects on the area.

The construction injunction that previously hindered progress has recently been lifted, allowing work to advance. With its address at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is poised to become a meaningful addition to the landscape of Heber Valley.

Originally announced on October 3, 2021, the groundbreaking and dedication of the site took place on October 8, 2022, presided over by Prophet Russell M. Nelson during the October 2021 General Conference.

Situated on an 18.17-acre lot, the Temple’s design includes architectural features such as two attached end towers and notably, it will not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue. Inside, there will be four instructional rooms, four sealing rooms, and a singular baptistry, catering to various ceremonies and functions.

With a total size of 87,626 square feet, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will be classified as a large Temple within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, any facility exceeding 80,000 square feet falls under this classification. The Temple will stand at a striking height of 210 feet and will be positioned at an elevation of 6,711 feet upon completion.

A rendering of the Heber Valley Utah Temple was unveiled to the public on September 19, 2022, showcasing its beautiful design set against the backdrop of Heber Valley—a picturesque rural mountain area nestled in Wasatch County, just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City.

Once finished, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will become the 28th Temple in Utah, marking an important milestone for the region and enriching the spiritual landscape of the area. As construction progresses, anticipation continues to grow for this impressive addition to the Heber Valley.
