Heber Valley Utah Temple: Exciting Developments Ahead
The Heber Valley Utah Temple is currently moving forward with significant progress as the dewatering phase commences. This vital step involves the drilling of 20 wells, allowing water to be pumped into large tanks and subsequently moved to Lake Creek, located just south of the site. Importantly, this dewatering process is designed to have no environmental impact on the area.
On October 3, 2021, the Heber Valley Utah Temple was announced, generating enthusiasm among many as it reflects the continued growth and expansion in the region. The construction injunction preventing progress was recently lifted, allowing work to move forward seamlessly.
The site for the Heber Valley Utah Temple is situated at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, covering an impressive 18.17 acres. Groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, led by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson. This significance was highlighted during the October 2021 General Conference, marking a pivotal moment in its development.
Architecturally, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will feature two attached end towers, and notably, it will not include a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. This design choice adds a distinctive character to the building. Inside, the Temple will host four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, catering to various ceremonial needs.
As a large Temple, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will span 87,626 square feet, qualifying it among those structures in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that exceed 80,000 square feet. Standing at a height of 210 feet, it will be an impressive sight against the breathtaking backdrop of the Heber Valley, an idyllic rural mountain valley located in Wasatch County and just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City.
