The Groundbreaking and site Dedication took place on September 12, 1998, led by Elder John K. Carmack. Fast forward to a recent milestone, the public Open House from April 29 to May 13, 2023, allowed many to marvel at the architectural beauty and spiritual significance of this magnificent place. Following the Open House, a rededication ceremony was held on June 4, 2023, officiated by Apostle M. Russell Ballard.
Architectural Features
Covering 11,745 square feet and standing 77 feet tall at an elevation of 858 feet, the Columbus Ohio Temple is an architectural marvel. The exterior showcases an elegant finish of white Spanish marble and granite, sourced from Spain, giving it a distinctive and timeless appearance. A prominent feature is the single attached spire crowned with a gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni. Originally facing east, the Moroni statue was repositioned to face southwest over the Temple entrance on December 9, 2021.

Inside, the Temple features beautifully designed spaces, including two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all adorned in a soothing palette of beige and gold stone.
