LDS Temple News is thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone with the upcoming Farmington, New Mexico, Temple, the second of its kind in the state for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. President Russell M. Nelson announced this inspiring project in April 2021, paving the way for a historic groundbreaking led by Elder Anthony D. Perkins on April 30, 2022. The new temple will grace a beautiful 6.62-acre site at the intersection of College Boulevard and Windsor Drive. This single-story sanctuary, spanning approximately 25,000 square feet, will include a community meetinghouse. Its thoughtful design honors local heritage, beautifully blending American influences with native flora to reflect the vibrant culture of the surrounding community.
