The story of the Fort Collins Colorado Temple began on April 2, 2011, when it was announced by Prophet Thomas S. Monson. Following this announcement, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place on August 24, 2013, with Ronald A. Rasband presiding over the momentous occasion.
After years of anticipation, the public open house ran from August 19 to September 10, 2016, attracting 105,000 individuals eager to tour the new addition to the area. The official dedication occurred on October 16, 2016, led by Apostle Dieter F. Uchtdorf, marking a significant moment in the history of the facility.
Architectural Features
The Fort Collins Colorado Temple is an architectural delight, covering 42,000 square feet and set on a spacious 15.69 acres. Its design includes beige concrete panels that blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings. One of the standout features is the striking central tower topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which was installed on August 26, 2015.
