After much anticipation, it finally opened its doors to the public from March 19 to April 19, 2014, before being dedicated on May 4, 2014, by none other than Dieter F. Uchtdorf!

Situated on a gorgeous 16.82-acre site in Davie, this temple is a feast for the eyes with its striking precast concrete exterior and a spire that soars to 99 feet, topped with a dazzling gold-leafed Angel Moroni. Inside, you’ll find two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry—all nestled within 30,500 square feet of sacred celebration space. The artistic motifs, inspired by Florida’s sunny landscapes, feature playful designs of suns and palm trees, all harmoniously paired with Neoclassical touches like stunning arches and elegant columns. It’s like stepping into a tropical paradise!

What’s really cool is the history of the land itself! Originally slated for a middle school in 2003, the site was left vacant due to changing educational plans. But then, in 2009, the Church swooped in to save the day, leading to the temple’s creation that transformed the area beautifully. An amendment changed the zoning, allowing for the temple while also keeping the door open for future residential development.
