Exciting news for the community of Modesto, California! The Modesto California Temple, set to be the 10th temple in our beautiful Golden State, is making remarkable progress. Nestled in the heart of the Central Valley, Modesto, with its Spanish roots reflecting a rich agricultural history, is about to receive a stunning addition to its landscape.

As the exterior cladding nears completion and landscaping flourishes with the arrival of numerous trees, anticipation builds. The perimeter masonry wall is almost finished, and interior millwork is underway. It’s estimated that by mid- to late 2026, we’ll see the grand opening of this architectural marvel, complete with an open house and dedication a few months after construction wraps up.

The temple will be a sight to behold, featuring a single, gracefully attached central tower. Inside, it will house two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a beautiful baptistry, all set at an elevation of 81 feet. This remarkable structure comes as a blessing to the over 755,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California, providing them with a special place to worship and find peace.

The ground breaking on October 7, 2023, led by Elder Gary B Sabin, a general authority 70 in the North American West area presidency, marked the beginning of this important project. Located at 4300 Dale Rd, the Modesto California Temple will share its parking lot with the adjacent meeting house, making it accessible for all.

The official rendering of the temple was revealed on December 19, 2022, showcasing its elegant design and thoughtful construction. Covering 17.63 acres, the temple will span a generous 30,000 square feet, promising to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for many.

Stay tuned as we watch this incredible project unfold, bringing the community together and adding to the spiritual fabric of Modesto!
