Exciting Announcement: Houston Texas South Temple

Mark your calendars for April 7, 2024, as a momentous occasion unfolds with the announcement of the Houston Texas South Temple! This new temple is set to become a significant spiritual landmark, showcasing remarkable architectural features, including a striking single attached end spire that will surely catch the eye.

Spanning an impressive 46,000 square feet, the Houston Texas South Temple is designed for Temple work, boasting four instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a dedicated baptistry. This thoughtfully designed space will cater to the needs of congregants and foster a sense of unity within the community.

Situated at an elevation of 63 feet, the temple is still in the planning stages, with specific location details yet to be finalized. However, on October 20, 2025, the excitement escalated as the official exterior rendering was unveiled, providing a glimpse of the temple’s beautiful design.

That same day, it was announced that the temple will be located on a sprawling 15.7-acre site in Missouri City, Texas. This prime location is just north of Fort Bend Parkway, on the west side of Sienna Parkway.

In addition to the Houston Texas South Temple, plans include a meetinghouse and an ancillary building, The Houston Texas South Temple will hold a special distinction as the twelfth temple built in the same city as another existing temple, the Houston Texas Temple.
