Discover the Yorba Linda California Temple: A New Jewel in Orange County
The Yorba Linda California Temple, located at 17130 Bastanchury Rd, Yorba Linda, California 92886, is set to become a prominent addition to the area, enriching its narrative with grace and beauty. Announced on April 4, 2021, the anticipation surrounding this site has only grown since.
On June 18, 2022, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place, led by Elder Mark A. Bragg, who expressed, “It is an honor to be here on this beautiful California summer day to dedicate this site for the construction of a sacred Temple.” This event marked the beginning of an exciting journey for the community.
The Yorba Linda California Temple, built on a generous 5.46 acres, spans an impressive 30,872 square feet and stands 70 feet tall, with an elevation of 361 feet. Its striking exterior showcases a unique combination of white blanco macael marble alongside pink and gray rosa porrino granite accents, providing a stunning visual experience.
Architecturally, the Temple features a single attached end tower, creating a distinctive profile. Notably, it does not include a gold-leafed angel moroni statue, setting it apart from many other Temples. Inside, there are two instruction rooms and two sealing rooms, complemented by a beautifully designed baptistry.
The interior reflects elegance and a strong connection to the local environment, with Botticino Classico Extra marble and various other high-quality materials like BS Beige marble and Costa Esmeralda granite used throughout. Decorative paint designs draw inspiration from the local landscape and historic Spanish Mission architecture, with select areas adorned with 24-karat gold leaf accents.
Unique light fixtures made of crystal, gold-colored metal, satin brass, and plated stainless steel add a sophisticated touch. The bride’s room is particularly special, featuring exquisite Murano glass fixtures. Crystal chandeliers and sconces contribute to the overall ambiance, crafting a serene environment of aesthetic refinement.
The interior doors, crafted from quarter-sawn sapele with art glass panels, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail. Baptismal font railings feature a contemporary design with bronze metal and decorative etching, highlighting the interplay of modern craftsmanship with traditional themes.
Additionally, ceilings are designed with decorative paint, millwork box beams, and acoustic elements that enhance both form and function. Four original pieces of artwork depict sacred themes and reflect the natural beauty of Southern California, further enriching the Temple’s interior spaces.
For those interested in experiencing the Temple firsthand, mark your calendars for the public open house from April 30, 2026, to May 23, 2026. The dedication of the Yorba Linda California Temple will occur on June 7, 2026, officially welcoming the community to explore its beauty and significance.
As the ninth Temple built in California and the second in Orange County, following the Newport Beach California Temple, the Yorba Linda California Temple stands poised to create lasting memories and connections for many in the years to come. From its architectural elegance to its thoughtful interior design, it represents a new chapter for the community, ready to inspire and uplift all who come to learn about its rich offerings.
