On May 1, 2021, the official announcement of the Ephraim Utah Temple sent waves of excitement through central Utah and surrounding areas. The announcement became reality when Prophet Russell M. Nelson presided over the groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony on August 27, 2022—a momentous occasion that set construction in motion on this important religious edifice.
Architectural Excellence in the Heart of Sanpete Valley
Rising at an elevation of 5,567 feet above sea level, the Ephraim Utah Temple will encompass an impressive 39,000 square feet of carefully designed space. The architectural rendering, released to the public on March 4, 2022, showcases a beautiful design that blends seamlessly with the landscape of the scenic Sanpete Valley.
The Temple’s thoughtful design includes:
- Four instruction rooms, each capable of seating 30 people
- Three sealing rooms dedicated to eternal marriage ceremonies
- One baptistry for sacred ordinances
These dedicated spaces have been carefully designed to facilitate the spiritual experiences that are central to Temple participation.
