First announced on October 3, 2019, this stunning temple has deep roots that go back to the early 20th century. It was dedicated way back on November 28, 1921, by Heber J. Grant—can you believe that? The initial groundbreaking took place on April 25, 1922, and the temple was officially dedicated over several days, from October 23 to 26, 1927. Fast forward to April 1516, 1975, when it was rededicated by Spencer W. Kimball, and then to December 12, 2021, when Dallin H. Oaks conducted another rededication after an exciting public open house just a couple of months earlier!
Now let’s talk architecture! This temple boasts a flat roof with stunning sculpted friezes that catch the eye. Inside, it hosts four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and one baptistery, all laid out over an impressive 75,000 square feet! Standing at 53 feet tall and perched at an elevation of 1,240 feet, it’s a sight to behold. Plus, it sits on a beautiful 20acre property dressed in concrete, reinforced with a whopping 130 tons of steel and finished with gorgeous glazed, eggshell colored terra cotta tiles.
