The Moses Lake Washington Temple is a beautiful spot that serves as the 182nd dedicated temple in operation! It was proudly announced by Prophet Russell M. Nelson during the 189th Annual General Conference, and ever since, it has captured the hearts of many. During its open house, an incredible 290,000 visitors came to explore and celebrate this amazing space!
On September 17, 2023, Apostle Quentin L. Cook dedicated the temple, marking a very special day for the community. The journey to this cherished moment began with a groundbreaking and site dedication on October 10, 2020, led by Brother Stapleton, which set the stage for this magnificent structure.
When the stunning exterior rendering was revealed on April 7, 2020, the vision of a lovely single-story building of about 20,000 square feet started coming to life, complete with its iconic central spire. There’s even a spacious meetinghouse next door, allowing for plenty of gatherings and community fun!
Dressed in gorgeous Branco Cristal granite from Portugal, this temple exudes elegance. It stands a proud 117 feet tall at an elevation of 1,157 feet, blending beautifully into the surrounding landscape. Inside, there are two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a lovely baptistry, all designed for worship and connection.
One of the delightful features is the bloom motif that represents beauty and renewal, along with a border pattern that nods to the region’s Native American heritage. It’s like a warm hug from history!
As you walk inside, you’ll notice the inviting flooring made of marble, carpet, and porcelain tile. The beautiful art glass echoes the design elements outside, creating a peaceful atmosphere. You’ll also find elegant bronze and glass railings that add to the charm.
Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted, from the doors stained in a rich cherry finish to the decorative hardware in shimmering bronze and brass. And don’t miss the celestial room, which showcases a decorative ceiling with lovely painted details, coffers, and a stunning dome!
