Key Dates to Remember
The open house for the Lindon Utah Temple is scheduled from March 12, 2026, to April 11, 2026. Following the open house, the official dedication will take place on May 3, 2026. These dates are highly anticipated as the community prepares for the unveiling of this significant addition.
Location and Design
The Temple is located at 850 E Center Street, Lindon, Utah 84042, on a generous 11.87 acres of land. Constructed with stunning granite, its exterior exhibits two attached end spires but notably does not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, setting it apart in architectural style.
The Temple covers a total floor area of 87,005 square feet and is situated at an elevation of 4,817 feet, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Interior Features
Inside, the Lindon Utah Temple boasts four instruction rooms, each capable of seating 50 people. Additionally, there are four sealing rooms and two baptistries designed to accommodate significant life events.
One of the Temple’s most enchanting aspects is its decor. The stained glass and decorative elements reflect the area’s agrarian roots, prominently featuring the Linden Tree Flower, which ties the structure to its local heritage.
Photography and Accessibility
For special occasions, bridal parties have a dedicated area at the northeast corner for capturing beautiful photos with the Temple as a backdrop. Surrounding the Temple will be a circular parking lot adorned with black ornamental fencing, ensuring both accessibility and aesthetic appeal.
Construction Milestones
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 23, 2022, led by Elder Kevin W. Pearson. During this significant event, he expressed hope that the construction would bring “peace, love, and unity” to the area. The subsequent rendering, released to the public on April 26, 2021, showcased the sophisticated design that has already garnered excitement.
Community Impact
This Temple will be the 25th dedicated in Utah, further enriching the spiritual fabric of this unique state. Additionally, it will be the seventh built in Utah County, providing much-needed resources to the small city of Lindon, home to around 11,000 residents and conveniently located between Pleasant Grove and Orem.
Leadership
The inaugural leaders of the Lindon Utah Temple have been named as President Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Matron Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt, who are expected to guide the community in their experiences within this new sacred space.
