The journey to its completion began when Prophet Thomas S. Monson announced its construction on October 3, 2009, during the 179th Semiannual General Conference. Following this announcement, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place on July 31, 2010, overseen by Apostle Boyd K. Packer.
The public open house ran from August 15th through September 15th, 2012, allowing many to engage with the Temple ahead of its dedication. This significant occasion occurred on September 23, 2012, with Apostle Boyd K. Packer offering the dedicatory prayer, marking a new chapter in the area’s spiritual history.
Architectural Features
The Brigham City Utah Temple features two attached end spires that elegantly rise toward the sky, culminating in a stunning gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue. The installation took only 50 minutes, captivating over 5,000 witnesses who gathered to observe this special moment.

Access is facilitated through a two-story garage on the west side, wherein the underground parking ensures convenience for those visiting. The facility includes 123 surface parking stalls, 29 street stalls, and an additional 130 underground stalls, designed to accommodate the needs of those arriving.
Interestingly, the Temple is located right across the street from the Box Elder Tabernacle. The site was previously occupied by an old school, which has since been demolished, paving the way for this newest addition to the community landscape.
