The beloved tradition of dazzling lights outside the global headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is back, bringing joy to the season.
While renovation efforts continue around the iconic Salt Lake Temple, more areas of Temple Square are open for you to explore this year. Although the temple’s scaffold covered exterior might be a temporary sight, the anticipation builds for the grand open house celebration set for April 2027.
Take in the mesmerizing light displays daily from 68 a.m. and from 4:30 to 10 p.m. until January 1st. You won’t want to miss the festive atmosphere, especially as you stroll through the streets of downtown Salt Lake City, where other dazzling displays beckon! Check out the magnificent Christmas tree in City Creek Center, the whimsical candy windows at Macy’s, the enchanting installation “The Turning Season in the Eccles Theater lobby, and enjoy skating at the ice rink and the vibrant “Glow installation at Gallivan Center.

Dining Delight Book your holiday reservations at The Roof restaurant on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, where spectacular views and seasonal flavors await. The newly remodeled restaurant is ready to welcome you.

Explore Victorian Christmas decor in the Drawing Room and check out the unique Giving Machines in the lobby. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
