Get ready to embrace the holiday spirit at Temple Square! This magical destination transforms into a breathtaking wonderland each year, showcasing stunning Christ Centered displays that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. The beloved tradition of dazzling lights outside the global headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is back, bringing joy to the season.

While renovation efforts continue around the iconic Salt Lake Temple, more areas of Temple Square are open for you to explore this year. Although the temple’s scaffold covered exterior might be a temporary sight, the anticipation builds for the grand open house celebration set for April 2027.

Take in the mesmerizing light displays daily from 68 a.m. and from 4:30 to 10 p.m. until January 1st. You won’t want to miss the festive atmosphere, especially as you stroll through the streets of downtown Salt Lake City, where other dazzling displays beckon! Check out the magnificent Christmas tree in City Creek Center, the whimsical candy windows at Macy’s, the enchanting installation “The Turning Season in the Eccles Theater lobby, and enjoy skating at the ice rink and the vibrant “Glow installation at Gallivan Center.

But that’s just the beginning! Here are some additional holiday events to enjoy around Temple Square

Dining Delight Book your holiday reservations at The Roof restaurant on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, where spectacular views and seasonal flavors await. The newly remodeled restaurant is ready to welcome you.

A Touch of History Visit the Church History Museum, where you can soak in the festive atmosphere with musical performances from local community and school groups. Explore Victorian Christmas decor in the Drawing Room and check out the unique Giving Machines in the lobby. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesdays to Thursdays.

Art and Inspiration Discover large, Christmasthemed artwork displayed in the Conference Center through January. Open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., it’s the perfect backdrop for holiday reflection.

Musical Magic Join the special performance of “Music and the Spoken Word every Sunday at 930 a.m. in the Conference Center! Don’t miss the highlight on December 14, featuring talented performers Block and Arcelus. Admission is free just come and enjoy!

Captivating Theater Experience the breathtaking theatrical presentation “Savior of the World, running daily (except Sundays and Mondays) at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center’s Little Theater. While tickets are already distributed, a standby line will be available for those who want to catch this enchanting performance.
