A Journey Through Time

The groundbreaking took place on November 13, 2010, with Elder Claudio R.M. Costa leading the site dedication. This vibrant day marked the beginning of a dedicated effort to bring the vision of the Temple to life.

The public open house, held from January 18 through February 15, 2014, saw an impressive turnout with 407,020 attendees. This showcased the community’s anticipation and excitement for the Temple’s opening.

On March 2, 2014, the official dedication ceremony took place, led by Prophet Thomas S. Monson, with Elder Henry B. Eyring reading the dedicatory prayer. This ceremonial moment added to the Temple’s significance for many.

Architectural Excellence

Covering 15.38 acres, the Gilbert Arizona Temple impresses with its exterior finish of precast concrete panels. One of its most eye-catching features is the single attached central spire, topped with a stunning gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, which was placed on May 15, 2012.

Measuring 85,326 square feet and towering at 195 feet, the Temple blends beauty and function, featuring three instruction rooms, seven sealing rooms, and one baptistry. Its thoughtful design not only enhances the aesthetic elements but also facilitates its intended purpose.
