Great things are happening at the Montpelier Idaho Temple, and we couldn’t be more excited! With the parking lot freshly striped and the exterior lights shining bright, it’s clear that this beautiful temple is coming to life. Landscaping and interior work are making good progress, and we’re looking forward to construction wrapping up in early to mid-2026. Just think of the excitement during the open house and dedication ceremonies that will follow!

Announced on May 20, 2022, the Montpelier Idaho Temple is the eighth temple in Idaho, and we can’t wait for the wonderful experiences it will bring to our community. Located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254, this temple features a lovely central tower and will be a warm and inviting place for worship. It will include two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all housed within 27,000 square feet of sacred space.

Sitting at an elevation of 5,969 feet on 2.6 acres of beautiful land, this temple will truly complement Idaho’s stunning scenery. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, was a special day filled with blessings for everyone involved in bringing this temple to life.

With a friendly community of over 2,500 residents, Montpelier has a rich history dating back to 1855, when early church pioneers first settled here. The unveiling of the temple’s official rendering on April 24, 2023, sparked a wave of enthusiasm as the community caught a glimpse of what’s to come.

As we see this wonderful new structure take shape, there’s a shared joy in knowing it will strengthen our community and enrich our lives. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to this special place!
